Rockingham in Northamptonshire hosts the second race meeting of the Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship season next weekend, 2nd/3rd May, where top team SWR will be aiming to continue its winning momentum after claiming its first victory of 2015 last time out at Oulton Park.

Talented teenager Jordan Albert delivered a superb performance in the third and final race of the season-opening event in Cheshire to secure a richly deserved maiden win and the result was a huge boost for Chipping Norton’s SWR.

Bouncing back superbly from a tough start to the weekend, 18-year-old Albert more than confirmed his title credentials in round three. So, at Rockingham a little over a week from now, the British racer is determined to use the Oulton success as a springboard to securing more silverware.

Going into rounds four, five and six of the campaign, Albert is eighth in the championship standings and he also heads into the event off the back of a strong showing in officially timed testing at the Corby venue last week where he was fourth overall, having topped the final session of the day.

“Jordan’s win at Oulton was absolutely fantastic, he controlled the race perfectly from the start and delivered a very impressive performance”, said SWR team owner Sean Walkinshaw, “The result gave the whole team a big boost and we’re heading to Rockingham with a lot of confidence. We know we have the car and the set-up to challenge at the front, and Jordan has shown he has the ability too.”

Zubair Hoque, competing in his first full season of BRDC F4 racing this year, similarly carries good form into the second event of the 2015 championship having lapped eighth fastest overall during the recent Rockingham test – impressively only 0.3 seconds shy of his team-mate.

The 18-year-old delivered a best result of eighth position on the opening weekend at Oulton Park, recovering well from an unfortunate mid-week testing accident prior to the event, and he goes into the Rockingham race meeting 13th in the championship – just five points shy of the top 10.

“Zubair didn’t have the most straightforward start to his season but he progressed well during the first weekend and his top eight finish in race three was a great result”, added Walkinshaw, “His pace during the Rockingham test was very impressive, he wasn’t very far away from Jordan at all, so that really bodes well for next weekend.”

Qualifying at Rockingham for BRDC Formula 4 is provisionally set to start at 11.00 on Saturday, 2nd May, with round four beginning at 15.05. On Sunday, 3rd May, round five will begin at 10.25 with round six, which will be screened live on Motors TV, taking place at 16.15.
